Staycation!

This is an old post from July 2013, the summer before I had Bentley. I never quite finished it but I needed to publish it :)

We were supposed to go to Regina the last week of July, but it turned out we stayed home instead. I was bummed about not going out of town, but our "staycation" turned out to be pretty great! It was lovely having Matthew home, and being able to spend time the 3 of us.

Monday

Basically we just chilled out at home and got into the groove of having Matthew at home. We didn't do a whole lot.   We did go to the mall that evening and I got a new cell phone-though I already wrote about that!-haha!). Nothing super exciting, but still nice to do something as a family. It is funny how going to the mall with Matthew and Adelade is something I like doing, we don't actually do anything at the mall except walk around and look at things. I suppose it is a change of scenery and makes me not feel so cooped up at home. That night I even came home and made a meal schedule for the week and grocery list. WHAT!?!?! ---

Tuesday

On Tuesday Matthew went Canoeing with his Dad. His parents just moved back from Australia on July 27th, they had been living there for over 3 years. Anyway, so they say they had a great time. I got the pleasure of going grocery shopping while they went canoeing--fun fun! Though I was pretty pumped as I had a list and everything! ha!
I also did some baking...I baked 2 Strawberry Banana Breads, Zucchini Muffiwhich is  That night Matthew's parents came over for dinner, well they actually brought dinner over. They brought over our FAVORITE chinese food EVER!!!! KAM HAN-the one in Inglewood. Oh my goodness, it is so tasty! I might start drooling right here and now. Matthew has been going there for a long time, but we actually went there on our first date, so it also has sentimental value to it. Insert -AWEEE!-
Wednesday

On Wednesday we took Adelade to Heritage Park. It was such a HOT day out. I believe I sweat more that day than I have in a week combined. Gross...I know! I forgot how much walking is involved in visiting Heritage Park. Adelade LOVED the boat swings. Basically it is a small little boat that you push like a swing. I think she could have stayed in it all day. But I was determined to get our admissions worth, which is pretty pricey might I add. Definitely worth a seasons pass if you want to go more than once. Nana and Grandad (Matthew's Mom and Dad) also joined us, they treated us to some tasty ice cream. Yah, I had ice cream for lunch-sue me! We took a train ride, which Adelade loved and so did I. Though I loved it because all it required was sitting! HAH! We went a looked at some animals and Adelade got to pet a horse and a donkey. Adelade had had a bad nights sleep the night before and part way through our time a Heritage park I realized she was coming down with a cold. Poor girl. She was such a trooper though. We came home and and pretty much vegged out on the couch...I was pooped from the heat.

Thursday
Thursday was a super fun day!Matthew and I went on an ALL-DAY-date!
1. First we went to Clayground and finished painted ceramic plates we started last June. They were for our anniversary-last year.
2. Then we drove up to CrossIron Mills to watch Despicable Me 2. Such a great movie!!
3.
: Day date
Friday: Okotoks/Park/Diaper Bag/One pan pasta dish
Saturday: Biking/Weiner Roast/Ring around the rosey with Nana/Walk around Elliston Park/No Color Me Rad

Adelade turned 2! Say what?!

I have been slacking on this whole blogging thing, so I am doing a little bit of back tracking.

Adelade turned 2 on July 24th. I can't believe my little girl is TWO years old. I feel terrible that I can barley remember what it was like when she was a baby!

Since her birthday fell on a Wednesday, Matthew was at work so I documented the day on camera for him...and for me to remember, because without the pictures I wouldn't be able to remember.

Here is how the day unfolded....
Started with cuddles from Dada... she didn't like us singing her "happy birthday"

Birthday breakfast-'special toast'....aka: French Toast. Adelade LOVED it!

Then we were off to the park (with Aunty Tam), nothing super exciting but Adelade really enjoys the park.

Adelade was so adamant on wearing this hat, it wouldn't even stay on her head. It was pretty hilarious :)

"CHEESE"-picture with Moma!
We then came home and enjoyed a Popsicle. I was surprised she ate the whole thing. During the whole time she kept saying "told....told" (which means 'cold'). She loved every drop of it.
Then she read some stories to her 'baby'. It was more like press all the sounds on the book. This was the first time she ever did this, I thought it was pretty precious how she wanted her baby to sit right beside her, if she ever fell out of the chair she'd make sure she was put right back beside her.
Then Adelade discovered the Rubbermaid containers full of water.....
...which turned into her own personal pool!!! I honestly turned my head for a second and she was standing inside of it having a ball.

"oh Adelade!"
"Happy 2nd Birthday Adelade"- I was trying to make her this sign while she was napping but she didn't sleep long enough so she ended up helping me finish it. I think we did a bang up job!

We then had a yummy dinner! Homemade Mac n' cheese n' zucchini and Cesar salad.  Thanks for all your help Tam! My brother, his wife and daughter came over for dinner too. It was nice to have some friends and family there, it made it more exciting for Adelade.

Matthew enjoying his din-din!

Adelade loves her some Mac n' Cheese n' Zucchini! She didn't even know she was eating veggies!!

After dinner we were all sitting in the living room while her and her cousin were outside playing. I went to go check on them and found Adelade in the water clothes and all. I couldn't help but  laugh and take a picture. This girl loves to play in the water.
Cutie-pah-too-tee

Apparently it was a "clothing optional" party for the birthday girl!

We then finished her birthday off with a trip to "My Favorite Ice Cream Shop" where Adelade got her very first ice cream cone...I guess it wasn't her first now that I remember, but it was still fun!
Ice cream=Yummy-MESS!

Happy Birthday Miss Adelade, we sure love you to bits!!

It's a new day!

Why hello! Today started out pretty slow. I felt like a ton of bricks when Adelade woke me up this morning, perhaps it was because I had to pee like 6 times during the night, or because Adelade had been crying on and off since 6. (I know 6am is a normal wake-up time for most kids, but not for Adelade--AND she didn't go to bed until 10pm last night because we were playing with Matthew's family) Anyway, I finally got her out of her crib around 8 and took her downstairs. I let Matthew keep sleeping as it was his first day on holidays. Thankfully Adelade was happy to eat breakfast and watch "Melmo" aka-Sesame Street. I was more than happy to lye on the couch beside her and learn about the letter "B" and what the word "Surprise" means.

By about 9:30, Adelade kept rubbing her eyes and I thought..."ooo....perhaps she will go down for a short little nap, so I can ALSO go down for a short little nap". Yah, it didn't work out so well, about 30 seconds into our nap session Adelade was giggling and having a party in her bed. I then asked Matthew if he would let me sleep for a little bit and take care of Adelade. He happily obliged. Thank goodness!! Well my "short nap" turned into sleeping until 11am. I didn't feel anymore rested, in fact I felt like I needed to lye in bed ALL day, but I wouldn't let myself give-in to my selfish laziness. I rolled out of bed and went downstairs to find a neighbor/friend of mine was over because her roommate had locked her out while she was mowing the lawn...ouch! After trying to figure out what to do we thought the best decision would be to drive to Okotoks and pick up a key from her other roommate.  I was happy to get out of the house and it was really nice to catch up with an old friend. By 1 o'clock I was back home and Adelade was napping.

Matthew and I then had lunch, macaroni and tuna...we are running low on groceries. Watched an episode of Drop Dead Diva (did I mention I LOVE this show!-Matthew is such a nice guy and watches it with me). After watching DDD, I was feeling SUPER sluggish. I needed a pick me up. I had to get a move on, but didn't really know what to do. Before when I was at home with Adelade I would workout when she napped, but for the last 2 months I haven't done any such thing. The last workout I remember doing was when I was 26 weeks pregnant (I'm 36 weeks now), but then I got the flu/a cold and didn't get back into it. I NEEDED to feel better, I NEEDED to workout. So I DID! I put on my workout clothes, which happen to be A LOT tighter than they used to be, popped in my "expecting more" workout DVD. ( I should probably get my $50 worth out of it-since this is only the 2nd time I've used it...I know, not so good!) There are a variety of workouts on the DVD, I did a 30 min synergy workout--it was basically a lot of body movement, no weights, no running shoes, just me moving my body. It FELT great. Honestly, I felt like A MILLION DOLLARS afterwards. It was the first time in a long time I didn't feel really bad about myself. I know with pregnancy comes discomforts, but today my mindset changed, instead of thinking "I wish I could be running right now" or "I want to roll over in bed without making a production of it"---I am now singing a new tune, which is "I am so glad to be pregnant, and to be carrying a healthy baby" I don't want to focus on what I can't do but rather what my body can do, which is a miracle. I know this is pretty ramble-y, but after my workout I showered did my hair and make-up and felt REALLY good. I felt really good in my mind. It was a good feeling.

From that moment on, my day turned around. I feel like I found what I need to keep going, to keep myself being positive, rather than negative. I need to MOVE my body. I need to exercise. Even though I can't exercise like I used to, which is OKAY, I need to do something that kicks in my endorphins and makes me feel good about myself. I know this is what works for me. We are all different and it doesn't do the same for everyone, but this is the first day in quite a few days I felt GREAT!

 So here's to a NEW day :)

The rest of our day went as follows....
Our day ended with a trip to the mall, where I got a NEW phone :),,,,and iphone might I add. (I did it, I am now and iphonian--hehe) I am happy to be retiring my motorola pearl. We had a love- hate relationship. It did it's time, it lasted 3 years without breaking but I am happy to be paying less for a cellphone plan that gives me more--AND a free iphone to go with the plan, why not?!

After the mall Adelade had a hard to falling asleep, we took her soother away yesterday and it has been hard for her....and for us. Part of me doesn't know why I took it away, but we did. I just hope it doesn't take 2 hours to fall asleep tomorrow night. It is hard to listen to your baby girl cry out "momma" for an hour straight. I finally went to her and just by holding her and rubbing her back it calmed her down and she went straight to sleep....I am learning and re-learning how to be a mom everyday.

Since then I've been playing on my phone, making a meal plan for the week/grocery list and blogging. Those endorphins did the trick. Now it is time to hit the sack! night-night

HUGS

HUGS
I love hugs.

Today wasn't my shiniest days, I was not feeling so hot...well actually I was pretty much overheating all day today and couldn't stop sweating like a pig, along with being super exhausted and nauseous---all equaled to not feeling so hot.

Anyway...

So after giving Adelade a bath and reading her books we were saying good-night. Each night we give each other snuggles, and 'squeezes'. I have been trying to teach her to give me an actual hug/squeeze, where she
'squeezes me around my neck' (an actual hug)....and tonight she did it!! She gave me the BEST HUG ever! She actually gave me like FIVE real HUGS!
It was a great-precious-lovely and heart warming moment.

Thank you Adelade for a wonderful moment you turned my whole day around.
XOX
I love you and always will :)

Some "Super exciting moments" and some "Super NOT exciting moments"

I don't totally know what to write about as nothing SUPER exciting has happened, but hey I'm a normal person living a normal life so super exciting doesn't come along everyday. I guess when I think about it, it is all in your perspective I guess I choose what is super exciting and what isn't.

"Super exciting" moments of the week/couple weeks:
1. I don't know if I want to potty train Adelade yet. First off I don't really know how, I'm sure I could google it and get overwhelmed by all the different methods. But I feel like Adelade is the type of kid who does things on her terms, I can't force her to do anything--and I don't want her to force her to do anything. So we went to wal-mart a few weeks ago and she picked out the potty she wanted and it has been sitting in our bathroom since then. Sometimes she will use it, and by use I mean sit on it and use copious amount of TP to 'wipe' herself, even though she hasn't done a thing. One day though after sitting on the potty she said she was "all done". We then washed her hands (side note: she LOVES washing her hands! How FUN is that?! haa! All this kid needs is soap and water and she is a happy camper!), after washing her hands she sat back down on the potty. I went and put some things in her room and came back a few minutes later. She then said she was "all done", I was expecting anything but then I noticed the TP was wet!!!! YAY!!!! I almost missed it :) That was about a week ago, since then not much has happened on the potty, but she is getting there. I am happy she is understanding it, and my theory on it is to not get stressed about it, she will get it.

2. I bought a STAPLE GUN!! woot woot! I know I know, how is this exciting? Well I have been wanting to make a few things that require the use of a staple gun, but I keep putting it off. So finally I got one, that is after buying the cheaper one, only to find out the only staples they sold didn't fit that gun--that was after Matthew and I jammed them in and got them all stuck....oops! I was super frustrated!! I was already to- staple gun- away, but no I had to wait until Monday and go find the 'right' one. Anyway, I finally got the one that works and made the bulletin board I have been wanting to for a while.
Before

After

3. Matthew, Adelade and I went to a good friend of Matthew's wedding last Saturday. It was beautiful and Jessica looked ravishing!! I always get a little teary when I see a bride walk down the isle. Adelade was really good during the ceremony, thank goodness it only lasted about 10 minutes. There was a catered reception and let me tell you the food was AMAZING! There were appetizers, 1st course (lasagna) , 2nd course (chicken stuffed with cheese and peppers, with roasted potatoes and veggies, salad, and cheesecake for dessert! We were overflowing by the end of it!! I didn't eat it all, but I sure had most of it. Adelade spent most of the reception being her silly self as it was way past her bedtime--- so we ran the halls.

4. I took Adelade to kids day at the Stampede (You get in free between 6am -9am). We got there 3 minutes before 9am, so we made it just in the nick of time to get in for FREE! I love anything for FREE! I went with my very best friend Tam and met up with my sister-in-law and her little girl. It was so much fun! It was SO HOT out that day. I hadn't been to the stampede in 3 years and was craving these skinny curly french fries I used to get in previous years. So my friend Tam and I shared a bucket (yes a bucket-o-fries) and I loved every minute of it!! Adelade loved seeing all the animals and just taking in all the hustle and the bustle that Stampede is. I remember at one point thinking, "holy moly there is a lot of kids and pregnant women", then I realized I was one of them! Last time I had been to the Stampede I was single and just hanging with my girlfriends. It is interesting to think how much difference a few years can make.

YAY! we made it :)
Adelade and Aunty Tam waiting for the super non-eventful water show, no wonder there was no line-up
Wearing her free glasses that she later through on the C-Train tracks...oops
"This is a fake cow"-no fooling Adelade
In her glory!-driving a tractor
Us with 'Senor Manuel'---me in my glory....hahaha! (p.s: I love Llamas!)

Looking so cute on her horsey
Eating a wagon wheel for the first time. Apparently shoving it all in at once is the best way to go :)
Slowly chewing it up
5. Matthew's parents are moving HOME!!!!!!! YAY! They have been living in Australia for the past 3+ years and are now coming HOME! I know that it is bittersweet for them but boy oh boy I am happy they are coming home. I know Calgary doesn't have the ocean or all year round warm weather, or wild kangaroos, and other great things that Australia has---but it has family..... and sikome lake! (hahahaha)
They are moving back next week and should be home on the 25th or 26th of July. I am really happy that Adelade will have her Grandparents closer, so she can build and good strong lasting relationship with them.

6. I found a change table! YAY!...and it was only $35! I am refinishing it at the moment. I have covered the shelves in fabric and have painted it black but unfortunately one of the cans of spray paint I bought was gloss, and I had done it all done in mat...so back to Wal-Mart I go! haaa! I am learning my lesson over and over and over again when it comes to not reading the fine print on what I buy.

7. Being off work and having the summer with Adelade has been glorious. Though some days I find myself feeling a little bored I am so happy to have this time with her and to play and be outside.

8.We have finally moved our room around to make room for the baby! okay, moment of truth....I am not a clean/tidy person naturally. Though I wish I was, I really do. I am a messy teenager at heart! So I struggle A LOT with keeping a tidy house, room, bathroom, kitchen....everything! I have made progress in my organization, which has helped me keep things more tidy. It is amazing how when things have a 'spot' it is so much easier to keep things clean AND tidy! Marvelous!! (....and I'm just learning this, oh jee!) So anyway, back to getting our room ready. Our room was so NOT ready to fit a baby in it a few weeks ago, what with all the laundry and who knows what lying on the ground. I was starting to get anxious about it and Matthew could tell so one night we moved things around put things away and now we have a spot for the baby and a clean room! double YAY!

9. We took Adelade to the Southland Leisure Center on Monday. It was so fun! I loved just sitting in the water and Adelade had a ball walking around the kitty pool. We also ventured into the 'wave pool' which we have only done 1 time before (last time Adelade lasted about 2 minutes before crying out of control), but this time Adelade liked it, well she tolerated it. We took her on the kid slides and she actually liked it!!! I was so happy to see that she wasn't as scared as she was last time. Aw, my little girl is growing up!

10. I have been keeping up with laundry every week!! I am super impressed with myself.

11. We went for a nice walk 2 Sundays ago. It was just in our neighborhood but it was great! :)

Let's GO!

Taking a rest

After 3 tries we got Adelade looking at the camera...YAY!

Snuggles with Dadda

Adelade actually wanted to hold my hand!!! I was in LOVE :)

Finished the walk off by making some brownies. I wanted Matthew to take his shirt off too for the picture because I thought it would be funny.....haaa! But he didn't go for it :(

Since life is not always full of roses and sunshine...here are some Super "not" exciting moments of the week/month, that make me really appreciate the good moments :

1. Okay this one sounds totally ridiculous but it was not my finest moment. We went grocery shopping last week and we decided on having BLT's for supper that night so we forked out the dough for 'good' bacon. Only to come home and cook it and realize there was like NO meat on this bacon. I know, bacon is mostly fat--but it was mostly all gristle. Now most people in the situation wouldn't have been upset about this or made a stink...oh no--not me! (insert: not finest moment) I made a huge stink! I had my heart set on yummy bacon and when I realized all I was going to eat was gristle I was mad...can you believe it--MAD, about bacon??? Then I was mad about being mad about the bacon--oh yah...that's right! Matthew in his sweetness just hugged me and said "no, Angela you are not ridiculous, it's okay". Gotta love that man!

2. I ate a half a bag of chips in one sitting...

3. The other night we had gotten home late and we wanted to put Adelade down right away. I had gone upstairs most likely to pee, because I feel like that's all I do!! Anyway, as I was upstairs waiting for Adelade to come up, I was growing more and more impatient. I finally in a stern voice said "Adelade, come up stairs now please!" I could hear this weird scratching noise and knew she was on the stairs playing. Finally she made her way up the stairs and we did the whole bedtime routine and put her down. As I was walking down the stairs I saw that Matthew had written something on the chalkboard (which is placed right at the bottom of the stairs). I asked him when he did that? He said, "while you were getting upset at Adelade for not coming upstairs"....oh jee! I felt like a smuck. Here is what it said:
-I meant to take a picture...but it now says something different. It said:
"Angela is------Amazing"

4. I didn't unload the dishwasher for 3 days...

5. I got really mad when Adelade poured an entire box of crackers all over the kitchen floor, she even shook the box to get the crumbs outs.

6. I think I made dinner twice last week... (note to self there are 7 days in a week!) haa

As you can see I don't take picture of the not so super moments! ha

As I am writing this I am realizing how imperfect I am, and how that is okay. I can't be brilliant and everything or even one thing. I am trying to do a good job, though some days I could do better--a lot better. I am trying each day to do better.  I am happy for the super exciting moments and also happy for the not-so exciting moments, for in those moments I am reminded that there is always tomorrow and life is still good.

7 weeks to go!--or maybe 9!

Well I am a little too late to do a whole pregnancy blog thing, but it doesn't mean I can't write about it--since I've only got 7 weeks to go! It feels so far from now, yet so close at the same time.

I have to say I am really grateful that I am pregnant, I know it is a blessing and something not all women are able to experience or have a really hard time getting or staying pregnant. So I have to say I am very blessed and happy that I am able to be pregnant and that my pregnancy has had no complications.

This is my second pregnancy, so you would think I knew what to expect or remembered everything, but I totally don't! Hahah. I still get surprised by what is going on with my body and think, "is this what happened last time?" Either way it still feels like a new experience.

I am looking forward to meeting this little guy and seeing what he looks like. Adelade was born 13 days late and looked nothing like how I imagined she would. She was born with fair, fair, fair skin, blue eyes and the littlest bit of white blond hair. I thought she would look like -me- when I was born...oh silly me!--I was born with a TON of dark-dark brown hair. It really threw me off when I saw her for the first time. After a few days I realized she looked nothing like me and completely like Matthew. So I really wonder what this little guy will look like. Is he going to have brown hair, blonde hair, red hair? Is he going to be long and skinny like his sister? Or short and chubby? I have no idea. I selfishly want him to look like me, so I don't get the shocking response from people "oh really- YOU are his mother" I get it with Adelade a LOT!

One time at church when I was walking the halls with Adelade this lady was walking by me and could see Adelade walking aimlessly down the hall, she turned to me and said "who is that little girl's mom?" I wasn't sure how to break it to her that is was me. Even at Wal-Mart one time when I was with a girl friend of mine the cashier was so shocked when Adelade called me "momma", she kept saying to me "I would have thought it was her who was her mother (referring to my friend)" I had to keep reassuring her, no I was her mother and YES she looks like her Dad. Jee the things people say sometimes!

Anyway, I said I was writing about my pregnancy and I haven't really done that. Let's see what is there to say:
1. I will be 34 weeks pregnant next week...say what?!
2. I feel as big as a whale (even though I'm measuring small)
3. I miss my body...and lying on my belly!
4.  Sleeping is not the most comfortable experience of my life. I guess it is to prepare me for sleepless night when the little mister arrives.
5. I am pretty nervous about having 2 kids. Some days I think, Oh I got this- other days I don't really know what I will do.
6. Adelade likes to play peek-a-boo with the 'baby' aka my belly. It is always a bit awkward when she wants to do it in public as I don't really want to be baring my midsection to the world.
7. I seem to have gained weight like it was going out of style. Thank goodness I have it under control right now...this is for the time being.
8. I really wonder WHEN the baby will be born. Will he be 13 days late like Adelade or 13 days early, born on his due date? I don't know...but all I know is that when people ask when I'm due I say "the end of August" because it is really difficult going overdue. Everyday feels like a week! It sounds ridiculous but you feel like you will be pregnant forever! haha!
9. I totally watch youtube weekly pregnancy vlogs...not sure why, but I think it's a guilty pleasure. Matthew thinks its weird that I do, but I watch them anyway.
10. I stopped working out, about 1 month ago. I was jogging up until then, but got sick for a few weeks and when I tried I failed miserably. I should really do some light cardio and strength training, but whenever I seem to want to workout I also want to nap----what do I do, you ask? I NAP! I know I am a personal trainer, I am even certified as a pre and postnatal fitness specialist. I know all the benefits of working out when pregnant, but my tiredness has gotten the better of me. I try to get a few walks in here and there, but they are really slow walks. I know I will get back into after the baby is born, and there is no point in feeling guilty about it--I working on it. The hardest part about it all, is that working out is something that really helps me feel happy, and I like to workout a certain way and feel a certain way afterwards, and it just doesn't work the same way right now.
Anyway enough with the "whoa is me!"

This is me and my feelings on being preggo at the moment.... though I'm sure I'll have a hormone swing and feel totally different in 5 minutes ....bahaha!

12 weeks

Then and NOW (well a few weeks ago)- Ang aka shamu

31 weeks

I finally made something!

I am a HUGE procrastinator. I am REALLY good at it! No matter what it is, work-laundry-crafts-dinner-groceries-doing things I know I need to do-basically most things. But when it comes to making things--I come up with these 'great' ideas (well I think they are great- and I usually think of them in the middle of the night when I can't sleep) of crafty things, or things for my home, and then I NEVER do them, or I start them and never finish them.

I went to a few garage sales about a month ago and found some old picture frames for $1 each! Real wood and everything. About 1 or 2 years ago I came across chalkboard paint at Michaels, it was on sale for a buck I think.  I picked some up in the hopes that I would use it. So with these picture frames I bought I thought "I should make a chalkboard out of one of them!!" Then do you know what I did? I ACTUALLY made one.

I am not trying to show off by any means I just want to remind myself that I can be somewhat crafty and to not procrastinate as much as I do.

I forgot to take before and after photos, but here is what I did:
1. Took the glass out of the frame.
2. Sanded down the wooden frame. So I had a clean surface to paint on .
3. Painted the glass with 1 coat of black Acrylic Paint and 2 coats of Chalkboard paint
(I just followed the instructions on the bottle, I did a coat of Acrylic paint because I wasn't positive I was going to make a chalkboard in the beginning)
4. Painted the frame. I did 3 coats I believe
5. I wanted the antique-y look so I bought a stain and put it over the painted frame. I basically just brushed it on and wiped it as I went, so I could get the desired look I wanted.(DON'T buy your stain from Michaels as it is SOO much more expensive there, I got mine from Wal-Mart for $8)
6. I assembled the frame.
7. I put 3 hooks on the bottom of the frame and 2 hook things on the top to tie ribbon through so I could hang it.
8. Taadaa- It was DONE!
I think it's pretty cute! (not to toot my own horn!)
I am now currently working on some frame art for above our couch. I want to brighten up the living room. It is not done yet, but here is what I've got so far.

This is the frames before I sanded them

This is us painting them (Thanks Matthew for doing it with me!)

This is them painted. I will be covering the white fabric part on the giant frame with paper or other fabric. I haven't decided yet, really I'm just procrastinating...hahah!
So I hope to get a few more frames and some other pieces to go with these frames. I also plan on staining them as I really liked how it turn out with the chalkboard frame I made. Anyway, that is what I'm currently working on to help me de-stress and decorate my home on a budget.
